- Zipyran plus is an anthelmintic designed to combat nematodes and cestodes, containing as active substances the pyrantel tetrahydropyrimidine derivative (in the form of pamoate), febantel probendazole and praziquantel a partially hydrogenated derivative of pyrazinoisoquinolone.
- In this fixed combination, pyrantel and febantel act synergistically against all relevant nematodes (ascarids, hookworms and tricurids) in the dog.
- The spectrum of action covers in particular Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum and Trichuris vulpis.
- The action spectrum of praziquantel covers all important species of cestodes in the dog, namely all species of Taenia, Multiceps multiceps, Dipylidium caninum, Mesocestoides spp, Echinococcus multilocularis.
- The praziquantel acts against all intestinal stages of these common parasites in the dog.
- Posology and route of administration:
- The recommended dosage is 15 mg of febantel, 5 mg of base pyrantel and 5 mg of praziquantel / kg of body weight (equivalent to 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight).
- The tablet can be administered directly or concealed with food.
- It is recommended that the medication is administered immediately before a meal.
- Duration of treatment: single administration.
- In areas at high risk of infestation, treatment can be repeated after 15 days.
